im using winxp sp 2, when i start the windows the avast icon is with a red mark that takes too long to go out.
i think that its because avast is takin too long to initialize.
when the windows and the other progs are already loaded i have to wait more time until avast initializes.
while avast is not initialized i can use all the proggs on my pc but i cant connect to the internet.
maybe is some " avast webprotection" problem.
i dont know
help me plz!
I have experienced exactly the same problem for the last three days, ever since I’ve switched from ISDN Dial Up internet access to DSL. Since then, every time I start the computer AVAST takes about a minute to initialize and during that period it is not possible to establish the internet connection (the dial up window doesn’t show up until AVAST has started). All other things seem to work Ok in that period. Also using XP SP2.
To me it looks like AVAST is trying to connect to the server to check for the updates and blocks until the connection timeout expires. It might be that the presence of an active network card misleads AVAST into thinking that the computer is on the internet already, although I selected the “I only connect to Internet using Dial-Up modem” option under the Updates (connection) settings.
Anyone?
