avast unable to upgrade program

I currently have Home version 4.5.603 and attempted to upgrade to 4.6 recently. The upgrade ran into a snag when it tried to download “servers.def.stamp”. It eventually says “Connection Terminated”. Most everything (About avast!, etc.) still shows 4.5, except one place that I’ve found. Avast settings–>Update(Basic)–>Details–>Proxy shows Avast V.4.6. I found the list of servers in your help files:
URL: http://www.asw.cz/iavs4pro
IP: 195.70.130.34

URL: http://www.avast.com/iavs4pro
IP: 64.246.6.135

URL: http://www.iavs.net/iavs4pro
IP: 207.44.156.15

URL: http://www.iavs.cz/iavs4pro
IP: 62.168.45.69
and they all give a reply when I ping, except for the first one (195.70.130.34).
Is that the cause of my problem?

I’m running XP Home, 1.3G AMD, 368 MB RAM.

Welcome…
Are you sure you enabled avast.setup to connect the Internet into your firewall settings?
Do you have administration rights in your system (actual user account)?

Well, no, I’m not sure, but it was never a problem before.
The one thing that I’ve added recently, however, is a D-link router.
I think it has it’s own firewall.
Probably my problem, huh?
(Sorry, I barely know enough about this stuff to get me by.)

BTW, I do have administrative rights

Okay, apparently my Sygate firewall was running in the background, although it wasn’t appearing on my taskbar. Also, it normally asks for internet access permission for certain apps, but it hasn’t been doing that so I assumed it was shut off. However, once I restarted the Sygate application Avast almost immediately updated the virus definitions. I manually told Avast to update it’s program and that also was completed within seconds. Thanks for the help, tech. I’m still convinced Avast is a killer app! ;D

I think not… This is a ‘major’ problem of Sygate… Sometimes, we do not receive the message asking for permition, even the firewall is on.
I really think it’s Sygate and not avast.
Booting or restarting Sygate, everything works
