Avast upgraded blocks ActiveSync synchronization

I have Avast Free running on my computer with Windows XP SP3. At least once a week, for at least 2 years, I am synchronizing an Asus Pocket PC (running Windows Mobile 6.0), using ActiveSync 4.5 and until recently, everything was fine. No problem.

Two days ago, I upgraded Avast to version 7.0.1451 and since this upgrade, I cannot synchronize my device. When it is connected, after a few moments appears a network connection error and ActiveSync does not start. Disconnecting Avast even does not help, the synchronization is not made.

Please help.

Please try the latest build (7.0.1456). The 1451 build did have some issues.

Thank you for your answer.

I have upgraded avast to version 7.0.1456, but it still does not help: I cannot synchronize my device.

Avast has broken my synchronization connection and I do not succeed to repair or make a new connection in ActiveSync.

I forgotten to mention that I use Windows XP Firewall, which is set up to recognize and allow access to ActiveSync.

In Avast program, I tried to uncheck the Network shield, but it still does not help.

Troubleshooting ActiveSync shows that ActiveSync is unable to establish a connection between the PC and the device.

Can you help me? Thanks

Hmmm… I’ve used ActiveSync in quite some XP installations. Couldn’t you remove the synchronization pair and create it again?

I tried, but now XP even does not recognize the device and cannot make a pair synchronization.

I shall try to remove avast and try to reinstall an older version, in hope it will work.

Well… sorry. Maybe can help either uninstalling ActiveSync and reinistalling it.

Creating a new connection in ActiveSync, after having removed the previous one, finally helped and allowed a complete synchronization.
It was not necessary to remove Avast or reinstall ActiveSync.
Unclear to me what happened, but it was following the last upgrade of Avast.
Thanks for your help.
