I have no idea what is going on but every once in awhile avast uses 100% of my cpu out of nowhere. I have to restart to get it to stop… Anyone know how to fix this? Is it a bug with Avast or am I getting hacked or something? I have had avast for a few years and never had this problem… Also, when I shut down my computer it says Welcome To Avast as I turn it off??? Very strange… I tried scanning for malware with malware bites and nothing comes up… and I obviously scanned for viruses with avast premium and still nothing…
I should also mention that I did in fact reinstall Avast to see if that would fix it… It seemed like it did for a few days and then it did the 100% cpu usage again.
Look in taskmanager to see if there is a svchost running at 90+%
It there is use process explorer from Sysinternals (Microsoft), to see if dnsrslvr.dll is using it.
If it does, kill the process and the problem should be solved.
I have not had the issue today, but if it does it again i am just going to uninstall it and ask for a refund. I paid like 100 bucks for this and it has a bug that makes my cpu use 100%? That is scary. Also, if I have to uninstall my anti virus I will not be protected… that is also scary.
