Avast VPS update for versions 5 to 8 saying 03/04/2018

Subject says it all. I am trying to update the database on my laptop but when I download and install “Avast VPS update for versions 5 to 8” from the https://www.avast.com/en-us/download-update page, it says that the update is from 03/04/2018. It was my understanding that these database updates where done daily and I have never had an issue in the past until now.

I first saw the issue Yesterday and was going to see if it got fixed with today update but I have not seen a change in the last 24 hours.

They are done daily and often more frequently (see image, shows 5 VPS updates today on my system), but the download update page you reference is for off-line VPS Update and contains the complete database.

If that system is on-line then you should be able to do a manual VPS update from the avastUI

My systems are offline that is why I am manually downloading the updates off of the https://www.avast.com/en-us/download-update page.

As mentioned I’ve tried downloading Yesterday and Today and both times I’ve received updates saying 180304 (March 4th, 2018)

I don’t know how frequently that the full database download is updated, but March 4th is somewhat old.

I will try to attract some attention to it.

I’ve been using that page to download the database updates for the last 9 months. From my experience the database was updated daily without error.

It isn’t so much that the previous link didn’t work, but the file wasn’t fully up to date.

It should work now, please continue using official download page https://www.avast.com/en-us/download-update, currently direct link is to our CDN is https://install.avcdn.net/iavs5x/vpsupd.exe, but it may change in future without a notice.
