Avast web protection seems less effective than it was years ago

Alright, I’m just going to say it… Avast’s web shield has taken a turn for the worst over the last 3 years. Incorrectly labeling malicious sites as safe or just not detecting them at all. Appears the web shield has been "laxed or either less strict in detecting bad sites or even sites that should be black listed. I wish the web protection was as good as the malware protection of the product like it use to be before the Gen digital buy out.

I’m not seeing this.

However, there is nothing to stop you reporting these are either False Positives or False Negatives. The Alert windows allows this up to a point.

If no one reports them it is unlikely to change.

I’ve noticed the following: after Gen Digital acquired Avast and other antivirus programs, I noticed a significant improvement in malware detection.

What I found a bit negative was that Avast became less customizable. This isn’t a problem, but before, it had many more options for making changes within the antivirus.

And your sandbox needs to be improved, like the COMODO INTERNET SECURITY 2025 PREMIUM sandbox.

Conclusion: I believe it’s better at detecting and removing malware.
