Avast will not allow me to place detected virus in vault or delete or repair it.

I just bought Avast on a friend’s recommendation. I installed it (I got rid of my old AV first). After installing I updated it and then ran an initial scan. The scan detected a HIGH threat problem. When I open the scan log it tells me what it is, but will not allow me to highlight the item and either place it in the vault, repair it or delete it. It has something to do with process 1492 and rapport. The threat is in Win32:MalObj-JN[Cryp]. I cannot highlight it, and although I can select an action I cannot highlight or select the bad file and the “apply” button won’t work, either.

Don’t scan the memory…!

As Asyn mentioned dont include the scan memory option if your doing a custom scan, on top of that i remember not too long ago there were some other issues between avast webshield i think ??? and rapport, some performance reduction and freezing if i remember correctly.

Thank you very much, craigB and Asyn. Rapport and Avast have not apparently interacted except in this one way, thankfully.

I have removed memory from the scan. So, should I simply delete that scan log and get on with my life?

OBTW, the scrambled letters verifier must sure work on bots because I can barely make it out with my 60 year old eyes.

I used to use Panda but when I went to renew they jacked up the price over what I was offered in an email ad for first-timers. So I got mad and left. Seems like current users would get the best deals to keep them.

  1. You’re welcome.
  2. Yes.
  3. True, but it’s only used for the first 3 posts.

Your welcome
