Avast will not delete virus

Hi,

I just checked an email address I don’t check very often. Avast found several incoming viruses and gave me the option to move/rename :: delete :: move to chest I think were the options.

I tried to delete and Avast would not delete it - another window popped up stating “no more files” or something similar. This happened over and over and over it was like I was stuck in a loop and couldn’t get out of it. The little window also said it could not process the email. Shows it’s a Netsky P virus if that helps.

I tried moving it - wouldn’t move, tried renaming - that didn’t work either.

I finally told Eudora to stop checking that email address and closed the popup window that Avast presented me with. It seemed the only way out.

Any suggestions? Please don’t tell me to uninstall and reinstall - I’ve spent hours doing just this in order to hopefully get things running right.

Thanks,
Deb

Log into that email address through the website and remove all suspicious mails in there. And run a boot time scan with Avast. Than try to pick up the remaining mail.

Thanks, forgot about webmail … duhhhhh! Ok, deleted them all in webmail and tried to retrieve mail (knowing there was none) and then sent a test email and everything seems to be working fine, thank you.

Deb, I had to do the same here with an infected mail sent by an avast user to me :frowning:
