AVAST will not load

Hi

Running Windows 10

I have had a problem with Avast when I press the avasy icon on my desktop not loading so I deleted Avast completely and started anohter download for Avast site.

Halfway through I get a message come up “Avast install cannot continue because the last Avast operation was performed without restart. Please reboot and try again”"

I rebooted twice after having deleted the Avast programme

I have got the Avast setup application file 225Kb in my download file but when I click on that it goes through the whole proceedure of downloading etc and I then again get the message as above.

I have also clicked on install online but same problem occurs.

Can anyone help before I pull what’s left of my hair out??

Hi Asyn

Thanks for reply.

I tried deleting all mention of Avast in the registry plus all I mentioned in the first post. Tried again to install this morning but get the same problem.

What is that message about that I get. Is it Avast driven or Windows driven message.

If I can’t sort this soon I will just try another Anti-virus. In fact the Windows security seems to be doing a good enough job.

  • Which Avast…? (Free/Pro/IS/Premium)
  • Which version…?
  • OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP/Build…?)
  • Other security related software installed…?
  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

Avast Free
The version that is on Avast website for free download
OPERATING SYSTEM is Windows 10 64bit latest build/version
Comodo firewall but have instructed it to allow Avast = Have loaded Avast in the past with no problem
Have used Avast for a number of years

Cheers

OK, I’ve seen similar reports in the German section.
All users have Comodo, there seems to be a conflict.

Hi Asyn

So are you suggesting that I remove Comodo or what?

There must be a way round this.

They both work together as far as I was concerned and for some time. I originally loaded both programs at the same time years ago.

Sorry, I can’t help you with Comodo - last time I used it was on XP several years ago.

There are more than one report of conflicts with Comodo on this forum.
