Avast window pops up more and more often for no reason

For several days now, the Avast window has been popping up every half hour. For no apparent reason.
Is this an intentional action to spam users?

Is it the normal Avast User Interface (UI) Window that would open when you open the Avast app? Is anything else displayed? A screenshot would be good.

Have you tried repairing Avast?
From the UI, Go Menu>Settings>Troubleshooting> scroll down to [REPAIR APP]

Its normal program window.Nothing else is displayed.I tried the Avast repair option. No change.

I still remember avast4 where users were forced to watch popup ads.

Have you tried a Repair?

Can we assume you have no other Antivirus/Antimalware software installed?

The only other option is to remove Avast using their avastclear.exe uninstall program Avast Removal Tool | Download Avast Clear | Avast, then install afresh.

If you open the Avast UI > Settings > General > Notifications
Are there any settings 'if unchecked may result in the UI being opened rather that the Notifications if seething needs attention.

Uninstalling avast (removal tool) and reinstalling it fixed the problem
