Avast woke up my laptop from sleep

Hello,

Avast woke up my laptop from sleep today. When I took my laptop from its bag, the laptop was warm like it has been on for a while. This is the first time it’s happened. I recently registered for another year of the free version. I checked the command prompt and here is the info given.

Wake History Count - 1
Wake History [0]
Wake Source Count - 1
Wake Source [0]
Type: Wake Timer
Owner: [SERVICE] \Device\HarddiskVolume3\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\ng\vbox\AvastVBoxSVC.exe (AvastVBoxSvc)

What should I do to stop this from happening again?

AV

Which version are you using, NG has been droped a while ago.

Program version: 11.1.2241

Update to the latest version (12.3.2280): https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=189836.0

Am doing it now. Out of curiosity. What’s the timer function for?

AV

OK, report back.

To my knowlede, NG didn’t start on it’s own.
It was always a application that triggered it or the user himself.
Windows only sees that NG is running, but it can’t look inside NG to see what triggered it.

Hi Eddy, as said NG has been dropped.

That is why I said “didn’t” and not does.

Still no need to discuss a removed component, imo.
