I added huffingtonpost.com* to site blocking clicked Ok and tried it & HP was definitely NOT blocked.

Try .huffingtonpost.com. or without the .com
Are the site pages of huffingtonpost HTTPS ?
If so then, since it is the web shield that does the blocking it won’t work as the web shield currently only monitors HTTP traffic.
Try *.huffingtonpost.com.* or without the .com
