Avast won't listen to URL exceptions being made

This is really starting to annoy me, I keep trying to make an exception on the avast firewall for a website which Avast keeps blocking me from.
I have tried every method I can think of. Particularly the Settings > General > Exclusions method. I have listed the website in http and https as well as the IP for the website. still blocking me. the only way to fix it is to disable the avast firewall and then re enabling it. which then lets me access the website for 3-4 minutes before blocking it again. It’s really becoming frustrating. The URL I’m trying to access is moodle.chisholm.edu.au

What website is it ?
Make the link not clickable.

Hi Eddy,

I did include the website in the OP but it was probably censored. The URL is moodle . chisholm .edu .au

Neah, I just overlooked the url.

Site is opening fine in avast free with all shields running.

Does it make a difference if you disable port scanning in the firewall settings ?

It doesn’t seem to no.
It does work at first. but only for a short time. for some reason after a while it just decides to block it.

I was actually trying to figure it out for a while. I thought it was the SecureDNS thing, which I have disabled because it caused me so many problems. But it wasn’t. I started disabling components one by one and found that disabling the Firewall Component seemed to get it online again. So I’m confident that it’s something to do with the firewall.

That sounds like the port scan issue. Sure you have turned it off?

Avast UI → Protection → Firewall → Settings → Advanced → Uncheck “Enable automatic port scan detection”

I’ve disabled it again.
I’ll leave it off and see if the issue arises again in the future.

Thanks

Try a reboot also
