Hello, avast! will not scan my Windows folder. It scans everything else on my PC. It can scan forever and not scan a single file. Any idea how I can fix this? Thanks.
So are you saying that the scan never ends - or rather that it ends immediately and doesn’t scan any files?
The scan will go forever and ever until I stop it. It does start the scan.
What operating system do you use?
Do you have any recent unpXXXXXXX.tmp (X are some numbers) files in C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log folder?
(the path is for Win Vista and higher)

Windows 7 64-bit, and I do not have any log folders.
Folders:
1033
AdBlocker
defs
flash
License
OpenVPN
Setup
sfzone
WebRep
And then a lot of .dll files.
You are looking into C:\Program Files - that’s a different folder.
Try to copy&paste the path I posted into Explorer.
do you have show files and folders or some similar, system files checkbox in windows explorer
