Avast Won't Update - Avast Anti Virus version --> 7.0.14.73

Dear Support,
I have facing problem about avast cannot manually updated.
i get the virus definition from http://www.avast.com/download-update
after that i just download (avast! 5 & 6 & 7 series VPS update) download and save it into harddisk. the files size for vpsupd.exe is 77.5MB.
when download finished i try double click the files, after that will come out a problem

as it say on the pop up…it requiers latest version…latest version is 7.0.1474

Now to update virus definitions, Avast Virus Definition check the version of the software. Further can update virus definitions?

sorry my english very poor.
i means now manully update virus definition, vpsupd.exe has checking the avast software version? if the avast software is old version, and cannot to be update?

i have download the new version Avast Anti Virus, now can manually updated it.

but i want to know, now if avast software has upgraded new version,
whether is old version-avast can not manually go to update?

is there any error message?
did you uninstall your old antivirus before installing avast?
do you have a firewall?

i already uninstalled the old avast 7.0.14.73.
and download a new version 7.0.14.74. now can manually update it.

i want to know is, if next time avast software have made a news version, everytimes i need to update avast program? before manually update virus definition?
