What version of avast do you have, presumably AIS, since you mention the avast firewall ?
One of your images, extract attached (image1), shows program version 7.0.1483, this is a corruption as there is a build .1483, but it is associated with avast 8 and not avast 7. So your installation may well be corrupt.
Try a repair of avast:
XP - Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and select Repair, click next and follow.
Vista, win7 - Control Panel, Programs & Features, uninstall a program, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Uninstall/Change and select Repair, click next and follow.
You may need to reboot after the repair.
This has in the past resolved out of sync issues, though this may be somewhat different.
If that doesn’t resolve it a clean install is the next option, let me know how the repair goes.
Info on where this 7.0.1483 version is available: see attached.
Could be just a typo…
[EDIT:]
As DavidR says, clean install is likely best option. Anytime avast! goes up one build number, (from version 7 to version 8 here) updating within the gui update function likely not to work well, if at all. Best to remove old program, save your license key, and do a clean install instead.
It isn’t a typo as it is the extract from his image that I posted (view it), it is a corruption between avast 7.0 and 8.0 during the install and incorrectly tagging the avast 8 build number on to avast 7.0.
