avast xp 64 bit

Hi to all at forums

i feel i have a problem in just installing xp 64 bit and avast4home. Having read on site that a function for boot scan is not available on free avast can anyone confirm as the current version states 64 bit compatability? A Numberr of other functions are also grayed out ?. I have reinstalled yet same occurs anyone shed some light as to what is wrong, Never had this occur on any 32 bit application before.

Yes, boot-time scanner is only available on 32bit WinNT/2000/XP - not on Windows 9x or 64bit Windows. That’s the only limitation I’m aware of, regarding XP 64bit.

This is not available in the Professional version either.
It’s not a difference between Home and Professional version, but a limitation to 64bits and 9x Windows versions.

I got so used to having it in my arsenal i will now miss it with using 64 bit.So simple and easy to work with.

maybe things will change in the future. :cry:
