Current configuration is running successfully on RedHat Ent. Linux 4:
Postfix with cyrus specified as “mailbox_transport”
Cyrus IMAP server
Spamassassin and Anomy Sanitizer scanning incoming mail.
We want to implement Avast4mail to scan incoming mail for viruses. Avast engine, library, and 3rd party avast4mail is already installed via rpm’s. Can anyone point me to a ‘HOW-TO’ or offer any suggestions on implementing this filter? Thank you for your time, Dave.
you need these packages to be installed: libavastengine, avast4server, avast4mail
Documentation in avast4mail package contains steps how to integrate avastmail filter into postfix MTA and how to configure avast! daemon to work together with avastfilter.
Got it - works great! I ended up adding avastfilter to Anomy Sanitizer script. I appreciate your help and mostly your time, Dave.
great, it’s a good idea to add avastfilter into AnomySanitizer instead of avast! command-line scanner
