I’m using windows 7 and recently upgraded my avast to the new 8 version, but at least every hour it causes my computer to show a windows error and my computer then restarts itself (this happens even when I’m not on the internet). I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the same thing keeps happening and I’ve even done a system restore but the version of avast (the last 7 version) that comes up doesn’t work because my subscription has expired but I’m using the free version.
Um, I’m not to sure but when it’s restarted, a box saying ‘windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown and is looking for a solution’ (or something like that) and when I click on ‘more information’, this is what comes up:
Problem signature:

Is this of any help? I’m rubbish at these sorts of things, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
I know. I’ve used avast! for a few years now but Subscription comes up instead of registration so I can’t renew.
Yes these Event Viewer entries aren’t very user friendly - You could try a program called blue-screen view, that will analyse the dump files, it points at the process at fault.
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html If you download the .zip file version it can be used as a stand alone utility no need to install, just create a folder called BlueScreenView and unpack the contents into it.
