Avastfree fullsystem scan detecting just about every exe file as a infection

Hey guys, I really need help, I’v ran a full system scan an got about 10,000 infections mostly .exe files, When i try open microsoft word it opens up a threat, I can’t even open a simple file without getting a threat.
I don’t know what to do.

And what’s the malware reported?

Malware: parite, I’v just started another quick scan, 13% into it 200 infections…

you have a nice file infector…and file infectors is usually very bad news

Win32/Parite

Recovery It is not possible to recover manually from Win32/Parite. Consult your antivirus software vendor for specific directions for removing this Trojan.

Well is there anyway of getting rid of the malware without having to delete every single .exe file it has effected?

i would say this is a format/reinstall case

i will send essexboy over here to give you advice…

Omg, I was hoping i didn’t have to reformat my computer,Alot of my dads work an shit on it.

that is why you should always backup on external drive

How would i do that, Would i need a cd to reformat, I’v never done this before an i’m not the best with computers.

There are a lot of AV’s that say they can remove Parite, but they fail to mention that most system files will be corrupted

The best bet is to back up all data - but no EXE files or word macros.
Reformat the computer and then reinstall
Scan all backups before replacing them on the fresh computer

Do you have a windows CD ?

Nah, I don’t got a windows cd, I’m sure there’s another way to format it though, I don’t got a external hard drive either.

maybe there is a recovery partition on the disk ?

What is the make of your computer ?

Hp, Windows 2002.

Try this

HP Recovery Manager can be accessd from the Start Menu, or by tapping F11 key as soon as you power on the laptop. Recovery Manager is used to reinstall back to factory specs_also used to make a Recovery Disk set.

What if i just turned my virus protecter off, What’s this virus gonna do? Is it that harmful? i mean i can run every program with it off.

Well lets see… If you do online banking expect your account to be emptied as soon as it gets a hold. All your passwords may be compromised…

At the moment Avast is holding it at bay, have you done a boot scan ?

If not we can try to repair but I can give no guarantee

[
]Once completed reboot to normal windows
