Avasts continuous hard sell.

For some time now Avast has decided to tell me that every network my phone connects to is dangerous. Naturally, the only way to be safe is to pay even more money to install something I don’t get for the subscription I already pay. It’s the same for other versions too. When on my PC Avast likes to show all the features you could have if you only give up even more cash.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m all for having the option to upgrade, or to have a way to find out other benefits available to me, even if they cost more, but Avast have been on a real push to upsell lately and I’ve got to the point where AVG is looking much more attractive as it simply has the option to see what you can subscribe to, rather than telling me that basically I’m not spending enough to afford me complete protection. I mean, is my home network, where I can see who’s connected to it through a supplied app, really going to be dangerous!?!

Come on Avast, stop trying to push yourselves on us, and just be happy with the fact we’re customers already! >:(

Hi Brett, I apologize for the poor messaging on this screen and we plan to fix it in the next release.

We introduced a new feature that can automatically scan new WiFi networks when you connect to them. I intended for the Issues screen to just make users aware of this feature and suggest that they activate it or ignore it. The text on the screen incorrectly says that the network is dangerous, but it should say something more generic, like “you can improve WiFi security by activating this new feature.”

Can you confirm that this is the problem? If you resolve or ignore all the issues on the screen, does scanning work correctly as it did before? Or is there a different issue?

Thanks for the feedback.
