AvastSvc.exe big download spike

AvastSvc.exe downloaded >4 GB to a windows 8 workstation on the 21st. All our other workstations are running Windows 7, and along with our server running Window Server 2003 received no unusual traffic.

Does anyone know

  • What caused this?
  • Is there any way to schedule this for after hours?

We’re running Avast Endpoint Protection Plus Suite.

Just some further information, streaming updates had been disabled, so was not the cause of the data usage.
