AvastSvc.exe causes Blue Screen on Windows 7 since August 2017

Hello Guys,
as the title of this discussion tells,
I sometimes get a blue screen on my windows 7 system caused by Avast.
This happend the second time today, that’s why I’m writing here now.
The first time it happend, I opened a new support ticket which was closed after 3 minutes without any kind of answer!
I am paying for this program so this reaction of the avast support is really annoying.

I hope to find some help here.
I know that there are already discussions around this blue screen but they are all old threads so I open a new one.

The first time the blue screen occured, I got the following information analysing the MiniDump created by Windows.

Most important information for blue screen 1:

SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (3b)

DEFAULT_BUCKET_ID: VISTA_DRIVER_FAULT
BUGCHECK_STR: 0x3B
PROCESS_NAME: CompatTelRunner

SYMBOL_STACK_INDEX: 3
SYMBOL_NAME: aswSnx+283b4
MODULE_NAME: aswSnx
IMAGE_NAME: aswSnx.sys
STACK_COMMAND: .cxr 0xfffff88006ed0bf0 ; kb

As you can see: “aswSnx” (Module Name) is the driver which caused the blue screen.

Information for the second blue screen (21-08-2017):

BUGCHECK_STR: 0x19_3 CUSTOMER_CRASH_COUNT: 1 DEFAULT_BUCKET_ID: VISTA_DRIVER_FAULT PROCESS_NAME: AvastSvc.exe

STACK_COMMAND: kb
SYMBOL_STACK_INDEX: 1
SYMBOL_NAME: nt!ExFreePool+503
FOLLOWUP_NAME: Pool_corruption
IMAGE_NAME: Pool_Corruption
MODULE_NAME: Pool_Corruption

As you can see, the second one is a bit different.
The stack command is the same and both blue screens give a clear hint to Avast doing something wrong.

I already did a memory check and also tested my SSD and HDDs for problems but they are fine.

I would like to stay a customer and continue using Avast,
but if Avast keeps crashing my system causing data loss with it, I wont be able to use this software anymore!
As I already said, I never had any blue screens with my system before and use it for around 2 years now.

I am grateful for any hint to fix this problem and hope that the Avast Team will also do something to fix this issue.

Thanks.

  • Which Avast…? (Free/Pro/IS/Premier)
  • Which version…?

  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

Avast Internet Security

Latest version available by update.
Programversion: 17.05.2303

No.

Malwarebytes AM,
Bitdefender

(But not on this system build - so Avast is the first one running on this system)

First, be sure to get rid of all remnants of your prior installed AV(s)…!!
https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB11#artTitle

Then:

  1. Download Avast Internet Security: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_internet_security_setup_offline.exe
  2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.
