AvastSVC overload system when uTorrent is active

Hi to all!
When i downloading something with uTorrent 2.0, system works very-very slowly, I can say system don’t work
Avast version: 5.0.462 ru
defs: 100405-1
Other Antivirus is abscent. I use only Avast. Still.

Which version of avast are you using? (free/pro/ais)
Also tell us more about your system…

Avast free.
System:
CPU - CeleronD 2.53 ghz
RAM 504 mb (without shared memory)
OS: WinXP SP3 with up-to-date updates

if P2P shield is off - no problem

Well, this is obvious…

IIRC the way it works is by splitting the file that is being downloaded into very small parts and then combining them together again. Scanning this will be very CPU intensive.

Thanks. I understand it. May be algorithm of scaninig P2P traffic need a change?

It’s more about how p2p/utorrent works…
But here some suggestions, that might help you speed things up.

  1. reduce the concurrent number of downloads with utorrent.
  2. expand the ram on your system - to at least 1gb, better more!!
  3. or just disable the p2p shield - be sure to scan all downloaded files on demand, if you do so.

I had a chance to download 1GB of data via uTorrent about a month ago, but I didn’t see such overload…

Try to disable Heuristics in P2P shield expert settings → Sensitivity , and make sure “Test whole files” unchecked.
Does these settings change your issue?
