AvastSZB.exe - Application Error

This morning I went to Windows Update and clicked on the link to see if I have any updates available to download and install. When I clicked on the update link I received the following message:

AvastSZB.exe - Application Error

The exceptiion Breakpoint
A breakpoint has been reached.
(0x80000003) occurred in the application at location 0x59aae1c9.
Click on OK to terminate the program

What is this all about, please? Do I need to reinstall my Avast Internet Security or what, please?
I have Windows 7 with Service Pack 1. Avast version 11.1.2241
Please help me solve the above issue?

SZB = SafeZone Browser.
Is the browser still working ?

I just clicked on it and is is Not working at all? I wonder what caused that to go off?

See if a repair of avast solves it or remove the SZB and reinstall it.

I did a repair of Avast and that solved my problem. :slight_smile: :slight_smile:

True, sorry about that, as most people are in bed by you and not out partying. You are either 5 or 6 hours ahead of me depending on when you change your clocks ahead. Any way thanks again Eddy.

I am glad that you have solved the problem, but I am curious :

  • I assume you have set the Safezone Browser as your default browser ?
  • Have you just updated to Avast 2016, and was this the first time you have tried Windows Update after updating Avast ?
  • Can you update to the latest Avast version https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=179855.0 and try Windows Update again ?
