The AvastUI.exe process is stuck using my NVIDIA GPU and refuses to switch to the integrated graphics card. I have already manually set it to ‘Power Saving / Integrated Graphics’ in both the Windows Graphics Settings and the NVIDIA Control Panel, but the app continues to ignore these overrides. How can I force it to use the integrated GPU?
Follow-up: I’ve completely uninstalled and reinstalled Avast Security Suite, and that fixed the issue.

Tried to force to use integrated video card (in Windows → Cfg →graphics, and also in Nvidea Control Panel), but nothing works. Also tried your suggestion (reinstall Avast), still nothing.

Hello. I have the same issue. I’ve tried forcing iGPU through Windows settings and via Nvidia control panel. Avastui.exe just stubbornly is using dGPU, even when it’s closed to tray. I clean reinstalled both dGPU and iGPU drivers. No change. Super frustrating. My FileID 03F87
Hallo, ich habe das Problem auch mit der avastui.exe. Und seit dem Update von dieser Woche kommt noch nvidia_host.exe dazu. Laut Internet Recherche handelt es sich um eine KI Anwendung mit NPU. Wenn ich im Taskmanager beende, verschwinden beide aus der dedizierten GPU. In der Nvidia Systemsteuerung sowie in Windows wurde die avastui auf die igpu (AMD) zugewiesen und ohne Veränderung, avastui bleibt auf der dedizierten gpu. Avast wurde mit dem uniinstaller von avast deinstalliert und neu installiert. Nach dem 2. Neustart wurde avastui wieder der dedizierten gpu zugewiesen. Vielleicht ist es ein Fehler in der Avast Software bei einem Przessor ohne NPU. Meine Vermutung liegt an der KI Anwendung in Avast. Vielleicht kennt der Support diese Probleme bereits. Mfg

Hi again, I spoke to my colleagues and this GPU usage was caused by the Auto-scan feature of Avast Deepfake Shield, which is part of Scam Guardian.
This should now be addressed in update 26.5, where we split Deepfake Shield processing into a separate process, model_host.exe. If you’d like to prevent this GPU usage, you can disable the “Auto-scan on supported sites” option in the Deepfake Shield settings.
Please let us know if you run into any other issues or have more feedback.

Please go to - Menu - Settings - Update - and click the second CHECK FOR UPDATES button.
Once updated, please restart your computer and check if the problem persists.
Hi Prokopes - yes it is v26.5 and restarted before i did the screenshot… is there anything else we can try?

Hi, I’ve started to experience the same issue again after today’s new update (26.5). I’ve set all the AI options with “disabled” too, but it was still using the discrete gpu with avasui.exe plus model_host.exe.
I’ve tried a complete uninstall and reinstall of version, still the issue remained. Then, I tried uninstalling and installing the free edition instead, which seems fine no use of discrete gpu. But, right after I activated the premium edition, it started to download a bunch of stuff and started using the discrete gpu again, all the AI options are disabled in this case too.

Hi all, we released another fix today that should prevent this from happening.
Could you please check if the issue still persists? Make sure you’re on the latest version (26.5) and that “Auto-scan” is disabled in the Deepfake Guard settings.

Even i do have the same problem, but i noticed that after i did clean installation on Nvidia app with studio driver or gaming driver, the avastui.exe wasnt operating at discrete gpu, but after the restart the problem reoccurs again . as usual the rest were at checked and updated at latest version and on geek area the experimental setting its off by default
