AVERT software...someone test it?

Hey guys, I came across piece of interesting software yesterday.
Its a anti-(every malicious program) scanner + ccleaner & some other utilities. Its called AVERT Software
http://www.avertsoftware.com/
Its free, and claims to come with 8 antivirus scanners.
Its is reliable though, or is there any catch.
Seems too good to be true for me.
Anyone wants to test it out?

This has been covered in the forums somewhere, the General Forum I believe, so I suggest a forum search for Avert.

Nope, I was unable to find it.
All the result was either mcafee’s avert or spamavert.
Haven’t seen anything about avert software with 8 scanners in the forum yet.

You couldn’t find it, as it is in a restricted section…
Here’s a quote from essexboy on avert…

The problem with a multi scanner like that - apart from the time problem, is that you are not sure how each will treat an infection.. For example - Hitmanpro and Norton will delete an infected winlogon or explorer, not a pretty result as you admire your new paperweight.

For a multi purpose single shot cleaning AV I think I will stick to Dr Web as it is frequently updated works from safe mode quite happily and has very good cleaning capabilities, but the actual AV that you can purchase does not quite do the job of stopping them in the first place, which is a tad weird

Generally I find that if Dr Web cannot clean the problem then I will need to do it manually. I had my first true 64bit virus the other day and the only way I could kill it was by doing several manual steps using batch files of all things. No AV recognised it and I was unable to get a copy.
