Looks like somebody at AVG had a bad day http://www.pcworld.com/businesscenter/article/212313/AVG_Free_Update_Bricks_64Bit_Windows_7_PCs.html
Joe
I thought about posting that but figured someone else would. Just another reason I’m glad I stuck with Avast! instead of AVG.
Sometimes you wonder if anybody even tests the software updates. Over at WD forum they are having constant problems with firmware updates on external drives. Sometimes it locks people out that didn’t have a password or bricks the drive. To make it work for a Mac you have to update on Windows!
Joe
good thing i have gdata, panda cloud anti virus and malwarebtyes
avg sucks a** and needs to work on its anti virus
Wouldn’t Gdata and Panda conflict? I don’t think Panda is supposed to work alongside other AV, unless they changed that. If not, I may download it too.
panda can work with avast, comodo, gdata, bitdefer, and many more
Bad news when something that is designed to protect your computer turns it into a paper weight or book end. A very good reason (one of many) to backup everything that is important. I have never used AVG and will not say anything bad about them. If a companies software rendered my computer useless I would be a little upset. Especially if they denied responsibility. I know how to get my computer back but there are those who do not and may have to spend money at a repair shop. AVG is not the first A/V company to have this happen and probably won’t be the last.
Do you remember 2009, December 3th?
One year after, this time with AVG…
- Most users ever online on avast forums.
- A nightmare…

In fact, most of the time they are known to cause both conflicts with each other and system performance problems…

A bit down under “new features and changelog”. It must work similar to Immunet since that doesn’t conflict with other AVs either.
yes it can
Ability to run alongside other AVs and Anti-Spyware. Can now be run alongside other security tools and scanners.
still not gonna try it…
too much with what i have would be an overkill…
yes panda can run with avast
Do you run it side by side with avast?

Similar, but not the same. It’s incompatible with avast.
yes it can
No it can’t!
I tried it on my XP Pro system and it caused it to hang constantly.
