avi, opera browser etc "added to list of games" - what is this

I am getting a popup in the new Avast that states certain programs, movies etc is “added to list of games” when I close them…do I want to “undo this.”

I have no idea what this is, can someone help me please, and how do I stop this from happening?

New Game Mode automatically adds programs into “Game List” which is considered as game by Avast.
Currently there is no way to stop automatic adding, you can either disable Game Mode or remove added entries.

  1. Open Avast UI
  2. Select “Performance” => Game Mode
  3. (if you want to disable Game Mode) Click upper green switch to “OFF”
  4. (if you want to remove entries) Click a tile → click “REMOVE”

Hope this helps.

If all goes well, tomorrow avast! will receive a bugfix update which will also address this. It’ll allow you to disable automatic adding of programs to the Game Mode list.

The autodetection disabling option is finally out and live. Will take a day to receive proper English strings but didn’t want to keep you waiting

ok, so how do i turn it off? because the only option i can find is to turn it on or off altogether and the same old settings for performance and notifications

Will this come in the form of a new version?

@JimZiii, @greyowl
The patch is already live via micro-update, maybe we need to reboot our machine to see a new option.

when this popped up i didn’t click undo cause i had no idea wth is going on, how to remove it new from the list?, will the patch remove it when it comes out?

its 9:51am here right new

NWM i fond the way

i haven’t gotten any patch after update to new ver, only virus database update what is meany times a day, if patch comes it avast would also ask restart like with update

You can manually initiate it:
C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast and launch AvEmUpdate.exe - wait some 1 minute and then do a restart.

Micro-update not always asks you to reboot.
Please follow Load-Ami’s suggestion (manually initiate micro-update) and see the results.

okay i try

when i open avast i don’t see txt update available neither, but i try what he suggested

did that & i didn’t see any update windows so i can’t be sure did i get it or not same as before that when i made first post yesterday i just got something that isn’t a game added to the list, i removed it from the list & i haven’t gotten any messages about update/patch so i don’t know

wont be doing pointless restart if i don’t know did i get the patch or not, my restart comes when i shut down pc today later & turn it on again tomorrow & that’s my restart

awry time Nvidia updates i get this

nothing is fixed, it still adds stuff that aren’t games, so far just that one thing cause i don’t deal with video making of my gameplay so no idea will it do same with this programs, & also that’s a driver, why is a driver added?

but i also have off the topic question, its called vista driver so why did i get it when i have Win 8.1, are Nvidia servers gone nuts that they can’t tell which sys some1 has?

I’d try disabling Game Mode to see if your issues go away. Known bug.
