I recently installed a program called Free Youtube Downloader
http://download.cnet.com/Free-YouTube-Downloader/3000-2071_4-75219434.html
However, in despite not clicking the Babylon program it wanted to install, it ended up doing so.
And it made my homepage Babylon Search Page.
Is Avast aware of this Malware that does this?
Can someone at Avast take a look at the Free Youtube Downloader program and this Babylon Search Page thing?
How can I find if Avast will remove this malware?

thank you for the reply.
but may i ask why it is not considered a malware?
i specifically unchecked all the options to download this with the program i downloaded.
yet the program decided to install anyway.
i would consider that an aggressive unwanted thing.

if it does not do anything malicious in the computer, then it is not classed as malware
it may come be classed as adware…or pup (possible unwanted program)
pup scan is default off in avast quick/full scan
can you access the program in ad/remove and just uninstall it ?

Hi jujubee,
Here is a known good site for additional programs, most, if not all, of them are free, and do not come with adware **** or other stuff: http://www.filehippo.com/ I do not use C|net as this will sometimes happen when one downloads a file from there.
Additional tools for safer and more worry-free surfing experience: WOT http://www.mywot.com/ & AdBlock Plus https://www.google.com/#hl=en&gs_nf=1&cp=8&gs_id=65&xhr=t&q=adblock+plus&pf=p&sclient=psy-ab&oq=adblock+&gs_l=&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&fp=b4feee67f174ddab&biw=1280&bih=887 With Adblock in place, you cannot click a malicious ad or link as you cannot see it. Adblock will block it from showing up in your browser.
Be safer .
