Bad transition from Roboform 6

Avast Antivirus popup offered me to download EasyPass. Im thinking hey Avast got a password manager. lets try it out.
Next thing you know it installs Roboform on my computer. I already had Roboform Pro 6 on my computer

PROBLEMS:

  1. Avast doesn’t tell you it’s really a RoboForm version 7 with different logo untill well into installation process

  2. There is no way to restore RoboForm

  3. Avast automatically puts your passwords on who knows whos servers.
The word “Sync” during installation isn’t enough information that you are going to take all my passwords and put them online.

  4. there is no visible way to DELETE passwords on avast or whoevers server.

  5. None of the EasyPass Toolbars work except for Opera.
CHROME: “ERROR: Roboform installation is incomplete. please reinstall roboform”
FFOX: “ERROR: Can not load RoboForm Add-on, please restart browser or reinstall Roboform”

  6. download says it’s a “trial” but no indication for how long and what will happen if I already had Roboform (6).

I expected more from Avast. this is just crap.

I too received a pop-up offering a trial of Avast’s Easy Pass progam. Like you also, I had already been using Roboform and I was toally shocked to see that well into the installation process that Easy Pass had uploaded all of my Roboform passwords to an online server.

I have written to Avast support to inquire as to how this online “account” can be deleted from the server since it is something that I neither need or want. There is reference to the fact that the account can be deleted but no instructions as to how this can be accomplished. I have uninstalled Avast Easy Pass and reinstalled Roboform which only stores info locally on my computer but am still uncomfortable about personal info that has been uploaded without due warning by Avast. Like you, I too expected more from AVAST!

Hope this helps: https://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=view&parentcategoryid=657

That’s strange since the link Asyn posted brings up the following,
