Bank Mode gives me a blank screen

Hi all,

After the last update I try going into bank mode and all I get is a blank screen, whereas previously I always got the correct bank screen.

Can anyone help with this please?

Glenn

I don’t use the Avast Secure Browser so I can’t speak from personal experience.

Some people have spoken of issues in the forums (after ASB update) though this tended to be with other browsers, having to install the ASB browser add-on again, so the linked browser appears in the Windows Taskbar. I don’t know if this true for the Chromium based Avast Secure Browser.

See this topic - https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=322987.0 - don’t know if it helps you or not.

I am having the same problem. Blank, dark screen in bank mode. Can’t do my banking!

Have you visited the link directly above your post ?

If not do so and better still follow the request by Misha Zekovova:

can you please share your diagnostic information from secure://settings/help and paste it here? Thank you.

Hello, i am struggling with the same problem on my pc since a week. Avast service tells me, they are working to fix it. Hope they will give proirity one to tis bug, otherwise i will quit avast.

I also get a gray screen, but then when I click on the Secure browser icon in the taskbar of the bank browser it does open.

Here’s the latest update that I passed along to Avast:
“I did a new install of the Secure Browser, updated it to the latest version, rebooted the system. Bank Mode if opened from the Avast tray icon opens properly but I still can’t select the notepad.exe that I added to the Bank Mode. However, opening Bank Mode from the three dot menu in the Secure Browser still gives me the blank screen as shown in the photo I posted in my last reply.”
When I get a reply from Avast, I’ll pass along the information.

Here’s the information I’ve received:
If you open to Avast User Interface - Menu - About - you should see the program version ending with “779”? And if so, could you please try one more reboot?
That should fix the problem if you’re using browser version 111.0
If you’re on the beta version this fix will happen in the next release, hopefully today.

Earlier today I was notified of an update ready for the Beta version of Avast.
This also updated the SecureBrowser.

After the update and a system restart, Bank Mode is not working as expected.
Even notepad. exe residing in the tray of the Browser in Banking Mode is opening as expected.
Thanks for the fix Avast.
