Sometimes when using bank mode and I open a certain window it keeps on opening multiple windows of the first one. This happens only with the website chase.com AFAIK.
I think it is because I may have the site in a folder in Avast Secure Browser where it is supposed to automatically open it in bank mode even if bank mode is already open. I can’t remember how to access that folder if it exists. A long time ago I added a few other financial sites to that folder.
FWIW the chase.com site is the first entry in the bank mode bookmarks list.
Any ideas? It’s more of a nuisance than a hindrance for now.
It’s set to open the new tab page. It doesn’t auto -open when I open either Secure Browser or bank mode. You have to choose chase.com from the favorites bar. It doesn’t always open multiple tabs for chase.com either.
If it’s multiple loading tabs and you can log into chase the multiple loading stops. Otherwise I just close bank mode and re-open it.
I check my bank/CC acounts at least daily so waiting for an email from them might be futile. I assume you open your email in bank mode too? I have not checked to see if this is an issue on my other computer using Win10.
I’ve tried this problem several times and it seems that multiple tabs in Bank Mode happens when you also have a multiple chase.com tabs opened in a desktop (e.g. reopening browser from last session). Can this be the cause for you?
If you want to change the websites which are opened in Bank Mode directly you can open in the new tab of the browser: chrome-extension://lhnnoklckomcfdlknmjaenoodlpfdclc/html/options.html and there is a option Automatically open Bank Mode on the following websites.
I often keep ASB and bank mode open at the same time. Since the chase.com site is the first item in the bank mode bookmarks bar I usually open it first.
I did remove the chase entry in the “Automatically open Bank Mode on the following websites.” pane in ASB so we’ll see how it goes. I thought that might have something to do with my issue, but couldn’t remember how to access that pane in ASB.
After doing that and firing up the computer this morning, I opened bank mode and with ASB still open I saw the same thing; opening chase.com resulted in multiple windows opening one after another.
