Behavior Shield causing problems with MailStore Home after Windows 10 1709 updat

Hi,
Avast Behavior Shield stops Mailstore Home Portable from running.
When starting MailStore Home Portable after Windows 10 1709 update it reports: “MaiStore has stopped working”

From https://getsatisfaction.com/email_archiving_software/topics/with-windows-10-version-1709-last-update-error-message-forr-mailstore-mailstore-home-is-already-started-but-does-not-react

Tim, Technical Support Engineer
We can reproduce that error, if AVAST free is installed.

The problem can be resolved as follows:

  1. In AVAST, click on Settings > Components > Behavior Shield > Customize > Exclusions
  2. Please add the file path of “MailStoreHome.exe” to the exclusions.
  3. If you use the portable version of MailStore Home, additionally add the file path of “MailStoreHomePortable.exe” to the exclusions.

Avast Version details:
Prog ver: 17.8.2318 Build 17.8.3705.249
Virus Defs: 171221-0

Mailstore home: https://www.mailstore.com/en/products/mailstore-home/

You can report a suspected FP (File/Website) here: https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.php

Hi Asyn,
Avast doesn’t report it as a virus or anything - Mailstore Home just crashes. So it doesn’t fit into the false positive pigeon hole.

Report it anyway.

Hi,

please try to wait and test if the problem persist even with the release 17.9 which should be out in the near future.

Regards,
PDI
