Brand new Avast Battery Saver product is now available in Beta!
In this phase of a product lifecycle it is very important to get as much feedback as possible therefore we would like to ask you to help us with testing.
What is Avast Battery Saver?
It is a product for Windows notebooks or devices with a battery.
Reduces internal and external power demands to extend battery life.
One click turns off Wi-Fi & Bluetooth® for an even longer battery life.
Reduces the power consumption of power hungry processors.
What is it doing by “Reducing frequency of PC syncs”?
Installed on Latitude 7440 and it initially said I was on a desktop, but after a bit it showed up correctly.
Suggestion: under settings - Turn off WiFi with battery saver. I would suggest that this NOT be on by default. Most users assume that if unplugged and mobile that WiFi would be on.
When it comes to the “Reducing frequency of PC syncs” message we decided to remove it from the UI because it was a misleading information and in fact product does not do anything in that regards, or at least we are not there yet.
The point about the settings is definitely valid and this particular settings shall work in a way that it switches off the WiFi or Bluetooth only in case you are not connected to any network when you turn on Battery Saver (or when it is automatically activated by unplugging your notebook from the power source). But we are still trying to optimize this functionality so if you would encounter any problem or misbehavior, please let us know.
