Hi all. I live out in the country so I have a slow, very slow, dial up connection. It takes me several online sessions to download games from the above site. They recommend that I disengage my security and I don’t want to do that. Is there any way I can set Avast to ignore Big Fish downloads? Thanks.
“big fish downloads” ??? …sounds fishy to me ;D I’d stay away from that
Its an OK site…with OK games…Governor of Poker is from them^^
I dunno about the problem…isnt the problem the internet connection?

Hello lindalg1002
never do anything foolish such as disabling avast!. instead you can get a good download manager which does the job. some of them are http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/ and orbitdownloader.com both are almost equally good at speed but the user interface might change. you also have options to scan the files using avast! as soon as the download is finished. choose which ever suits you.

Welcome to the forums, lindalg1002.
I am also on dial-up. I usually has a 52k connection which about as good as you’ll get even with a 56k modem.
You might also try Opera 10 browser which has a built-in downloader and is fairly fast considering the connection type.
I would recommend gigaget as a download manager
http://www.gigaget.com/download.htm
The speed that it downloads file is far more superior than any other download managers that I have tried.
