Black Screen of Death

I juist got hit with a bad virus like no other i have seen. The Virus appears to reside in the MBR. It does not allow me to see the screen which makes it difficult to get rid of it. I used a fix to remove it and it works temporarily but it appears to replicate and hide because I got the black screen again. When It was acting up, I ran AVAST but the only thing it could come up with was the PUP virus. I could not spend too much time on finding a solution so I had to end up buying a new computer. I had some backups but not all. The computer was old anyway Dual Core Pentium 3.35 GHZ. Windows XP. If anyone come across this virus let me know. I think my only option will be to reformat the hardrive.

PUP is not virus but Possible Unwanted Pogram…
