Hi,I am trying to access a site that is being blocked by Avast. Actually, I can access the main page of the site but when I do, I get the following message:17.04.2009 21:43:12 Network Shield: blocked access to malicious site 94.247.2.195/news/?id=100 [ C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe ( 2064 ) ]I am familiar with the organization that owns the site and have mentioned this to them. Because no one else has complained and because they are confident that their site is safe, they assume that the problem is with my computer. I don’t get that message with any other sites. I checked my webshield and it is set at normal.
Why am I getting a “blocked access…” message when I enter their mainpage? When I first logged on, I didn’t notice the message immediately and moved around a bit within the site. I don’t understand how I was able to do that if in fact I am being blocked access to the site(?)
I know the organization that owns the site I was trying to access. I obviously have no idea who the host master is that you just listed.
I don’t feel comfortable accessing their site with this message popping up (even though I am able to (?)). I’d like to know why I am getting this message and why no one else seems to be getting it. Also, why am I able to access the site if the message says that I am blocked?
I have no idea who that IP address is, if it is the Host for the site I don’t know. Though it would be strange if the site wasn’t also located in Latvia.
I also get a suspicious feeling when the code states an IP address rather than a domain name, to me it just looks like they have something to hide in doing that. Some might say it avoids a DNS lookup to connect to the site.
Since you don’t mention the site/domain that you are getting this problem there is nothing else I can comment on.
