blocking google Anyltics

Hey,
I use Cyanogen Mod 11 (with root) on my Galaxy S3. A few days ago, i learned that CM11 itself uses google analytics (and serveral other apps use analytics as well)

So since i have root is it possible to configure the firewall to block all communications to google analytics server?

Actually you can, but you have to know the IP address of the dedicated server; unfortunately GA are very common library which is a part of the application itself, you may be you can try AdBlock or similar tool which have a huge database of GA IP addresses.

hm if have tried using adblock before but it didn’t block all ads within apps itself.
So i’m using adaway which works fine.

Do you know something like Ghostery for android? All the apps i stumbled upon worked without root, but i do not believe that complete tracking disable could work with non-root

You should to know the IP of the server first to do this.

Yes, you can use ghostery privacy browser od ghostery ad control, both are on Play.
