Blue screen and possible Avast conflict?

I am hoping someone might be able to decipher a little more than the tech was able to in regards to this problem, as he stated that avast was mentioned in the dumps provided.

attached are my mini dumps, for the 2 crashes that have occurred so far.
The recent blue screen error that showed:
“IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL” - Ive been told that this error is a temperature issue with hardware usually.

Tech info:

 Hi :

The place I usually start when it comes to reliable Info on Stop Messages is
the Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals staffed Forums at aumha.net,
specifically http://aumha.org/errors.htm ; from there I click “Troubleshooting
Windows STOP Messages” and there are many “sub-categories” under
“IRQL Not Less/ Equal” with links to many Microsoft articles .

The aswMon2 function on the stack is just the filter passthrough routine, so I wouldn’t say the problem has anything to do with it (even though the only way to be really sure is to uninstall avast and see if the problem stops happening).

What I’d suggest is try to run a memory test on your machine.

If you have a CD burner, the best way is to download, burn and boot from the MemTest86+ CD http://www.memtest.org (or I think there’s a version that filts on a floppy as well).

It’s free and works extremely well.

Let it run overnight and see if it reports any problems.

Thanks
