Blue Screen aswsnx.sys

My Windows 8.1 64 bit laptop has been crashing with the message SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION aswSnx.sys This has happened quite often, but I only noted message down today and thought to look on the internet to see what it meant.

I use Avast Internet Security, and I’m sure that this only started to happen when I started using Internet Security. I’m not up on techy things, so a plain English answer would be welcome!

Can anyone help me please?

Hello, what program version (e.g. build number) of the product are you using? You can see this info by tray icon → About avast!

Edit - Oh, I see from your other posts that you are already on the latest version.

Something is unstable about the virtualization driver in IS. You didn’t have this problem on the free version?

Look at this thread and go down to “If you cannot Boot the computer”.
YES, I know it is a VIRUS removal thread but I have PMed one of the experts for you on helping on these boot/BSOD issues.
He will run some utils, etc. to help but will want to see FRST log.
Download and run the Farbar (FRST) and post the log(s) to this thread.

As a suggestion, go to control panel > programs and features
Select Avast
In the menu on the left select change
Remove the tick from Sandbox and then press continue (or next can’t remember whuch)
Then on the reboot enable Avast hardened mode > aggressive to replace the sandbox function

Does that help
