Installed but did not recognize the purchased file on install

On restart, BSOD, can’t boot into safe mode. . .
ah, HELP! any suggestions??
its a two O/S tower, separate hard drives, on Vistax64 currently, 8 gigs ram.
Once you have done that, see if avast will start, though given what you have done trying to rectify the problem possibly not. So try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
If that doesn’t resolve it then a clean reinstall:
Download the latest version of avast http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download and save it to your HDD, somewhere you can find it again (if you didn’t save your last download). Use that when you reinstall.
Download the avast! Uninstall Utility, find it here ensure you get the version5 one, aswClear5.exe and save it to your HDD.
Now uninstall (using add remove programs, if you can’t do that start from the next step), reboot.- 2. run the avast! Uninstall Utility from safe mode, for 5.0, once complete reboot into normal mode.- 3. install the latest version, reboot.
Manually went into the registry and pulled out the entries for Norton and Symantec
Uninstalled and then reinstalled
Avast now starts, except the firewall won’t start. . .
sportsguy: could you please send me (kurtin@avast.com) a couple the latest minidump files so we can see why did you get BSOD? Minidump folder: “\Windows\minidump”. Thanks!
