This has probably been covered before but after upgrading and being asked to restart, the pc starts up in a blue screen. I can then only get it it work in safe mode where I have to do a system restore to get it up and running again without the upgraded version. I originally ran AVG and removed it before changing to Avast. The free version of Avast runs ok
Can anyone help?

Does this help?
Which version of AIS…??
1 pc 1year is all the details I have just purchased last night
First, run the appropriate AVG remover: http://www.avg.com/us-en/utilities
Then follow the instructions:
- Download avast! Internet Security: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_internet_security_setup.exe
- Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility
- Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
- Reboot.
I got to point 2 (started computer in safe mode, ran the uninstall utility) but when i then restarted the computer as instructed i was faced with the blue screen again! Any suggestions?
Did you run the AVG remover…??
Also please run the avast! uninstall utility for all prior installed versions…!!
Do you get Blue Screen when you run AVG removal tool or do you get Blue Screen when you run Avast removal tool in safe mode?.
PS:You can download BSOD analyze program called Who Crashed. and everytime when you get BSOD you can run this program to see what coused BSOD.
