Boot scan

I just installed avast free, scanned my computer, then it said in a message that it wanted to do a boot scan and if I wanted to SCHEDULE it for the NEXT RESTART.
I clicked on YES and the application just restarted my computer.

If it want to schedule for the next restart then why did it forced a restart?

You guys really should do as the message says and NEVER force a restart on the user.

If a scan finds an infection, it asks you to run a boot time scan AND reboot…

If you were to schedule it to Scan computer, it would happen after the next restart.

You need to read it more carefully.

No I don’t need to read it more carefully, it said ‘Do you want to schedule?’, as far as I know schedule doesn’t mean immediate.

If it will make an immediate restart then the word schedule shouldn’t be in the message, is that difficult to fix a message?
Reading it ten times isn’t going to make the text correct itself you know.

It would have said “Do you want to schedule” only if you chose it from Scan Computer…

If it came up after an infection was detected, it wouldn’t say that and would say at the ending “reboot now”.

But it said SCHEDULE, man, is that difficult to understand?
It doesn’t matter the condition, the message said: ‘do you want to SCHEDULE for the NEXT RESTART’?
And it rebooted my machine.

What do you want me to prove? Are you saying that I’m lying? Yeah, I’m going to make an *** of myself by coming here and spreading lies about the product. Good lord, the message was wrong, period.

I’m only asking to fix the message, I’m not here to prove anything.

It’s not that I believe you or not, it’s just like it’s a rare case. It could be a bug in the latest version which was released yesterday. If you were to get the same issue again, please post a screenshot with the outcome result.

Exactly, I know a screenshot is always better than just a message but it’s kind of hard to have one in this case.
I do believe it’s a rare case of bug that just came to be on the last version.

But on the first post I clearly said what was in the message, then it’s a question of is he lying or is he telling the truth?
If we don’t want to get in the question of if it’s a lie or not, then you could just have asked about the screenshot.

My message is clear, the developers can either check the code to see if the text message is misplaced or if the condition is wrong.
Or they can ask for the screenshot and/or wait for someone else to come up with the same issue.

Telling me to read carefully was unnecessary as the message clearly had the word SCHEDULE.

Even if it was to say ‘do you want to schedule? But I’m going to force a reboot anyway.’, even if this was the message you can clearly see that it’s wrong.
You can’t put the word schedule on a message that is going to kill all your apps and reboot your machine in case you click yes.

It’s not a question of if I could avoid the issue, but a question of even if I avoided it, the message displayed needs to be verified and fixed.
