As the title states, the feedback section should be brought back. I have no clue why it was removed in the first place. Feedback is critical to any software developer as it allows them to focus in on and fix issues that customers have. It’s certainly more efficient than having people flood tech support with feedback (wait times to get a response to an e-mail is a few days at least).
Feedback is just feedback, it doesn’t require a response.
It and can be done through the GUI (or at least there was always such a option)
That’s the users complaint. That option is no longer there.
Right. The point is there is no feedback option anymore… and Avast should bring it back.
Guess they got tired of all the negative feedback/complaints
That’s my guess. It’s not the way to fix things (problems don’t go away just because one ignores them obviously) and it would be easier for them to actually fix the problems people are having with their software. Then they wouldn’t have as many complaints. I can’t imagine there is much to complain about. Avast is free (there’s no need to pay for the premium services) and works quite well. Avast needs to listen to feedback. I’m more than happy to keep e-mailing them my feedback until they fix the issues if that’s what they want. Given how swamped their support staff claims to be, I’d say that Avast won’t want that.
I’ve reported this to Avast.
Before jumping to conclusions, let’s wait for their input.
Do they give input on this forum?
Bob wouldn’t have suggested to wait, if he wasn’t expecting any input.
You have been on the forums (registered) for a day, were he has been on it for almost 13 years.
Yes we decided to remove the feedback as it wasn’t really valuable for neither side. Users were disappointed that they asked a question and never got a reply (even if we clearly claimed that it’s a one-way channel) and most of the feedback was just support questions. Not really reporting bugs or requests for new features and improvements. So feedback is gone for now, but we plan to re-introduce it later this year with some changes so it makes sense.
Just for your idea, we got around 600 feedback posts per day, and 90% were support questions like "where is my license/please refund etc.)
even if we clearly claimed that it's a one-way channelTrue, it was clearly mentioned. Sometimes I wonder why people even bother to buy a monitor as they do not look (properly) at what the screens displays. ???

Glad to hear it will be re-introduced and now I completely understand why you removed it in the first place. I guess I forgot that people are stupid/don’t read lol. Hopefully the new feedback system won’t be abused.
