I am running Avast Free v2014.9.0.2021 on Windows 7 (X86). When I run the Browser Cleanup function, Avast says that I have poorly rated add-on in Firefox 32.0. The add-on is YouTube Video and Audio Downloader. Just for the record, this add-on works very well and has a rating of 4/5 stars. Avast claims that it has a 1 star rating. Therefore, I have instructed Avast to ignore this add-on. However, when I run the Browser Cleanup function, Avast still flags it. Is there anything I can do to have Avast Truly ignore this issue?
The ratings aren’t from avast! but from avast! users that voted that way afaik.
I still have some “poor rated” addons because I’m sure they’re ok.
The rating that the browser cleanup util shows is based on multiple things.
As far as I understand it,
it is the rating form the app store + the user rating (how many times it is installed/removed by users) and some other things.
A bad rating in the browser cleanup util is not saying the add-on/plug-in is bad.
If you have put it on ignore, avast will (or at least should) ignore it.
For a unknown reason to me it doesn’t happens always instantly.
I’ve seen people saying the ignore started to work after e.g. 1 hour.
I suggest you run the browser cleanup util later on and see if it is ignored, perhaps after a reboot of your system.

So if the rating depends on how many times the addon is installed/removed by users, they definitely should revise the algorithm, because all my good addons have a one star rating from avast, and its warning me to uninstall them, like they would be very dangerous.
Sometimes it’s better to use your own initiative. Do your own research. Don’t solely depend on a rating system.
The avast! plugin and others like it are a guide. They aren’t the ultimate solution and aren’t always right.
