Browser vs Webshield

It seems like when you attempt to download an malware exe file, Firefox and Internet Explorer fights the Web Shield’s “Abort Connection” and forces the Standard Shield to respond (Bad). In Firefox, when the Standard Shield then responds, you cannot save the file to your computer(Good). But, in Internet Explorer, if you attempt to save file, IE will continue to try to replace the temp files Avast deleted until you cancel the download/save in Internet Explorer(Bad).

On the other hand, Opera does not fight the Web Shield’s “Abort Connection” and won’t allow you to save the file on your computer (Very Good).

What do you have to say about that?

Tests done safely using Eicar Test String(Multiple) inserted into an .exe with a few large files to add weight. Self made.

It responds with a download message but it won’t download anything (basically when you get warning you should simply click cancel).
Thats it.

That’s what Opera did. Firefox did that after Standard Shield reacted.

It all depends on what you tell avast to do. If you say no, IE, FF or any other browser will not try to dl it.
