Browster? Faster way to Browse??

Have any Forum member heard of this?? What’s your opinion?

Browster Home Page

I do not think I have heard of this before, but, I decided to give it a try. I will let you know what I think of it in my next post.

Edit:
Ok … downloaded and installed. Not only does Browster do this in searches at Google, but it does this for any hyper-link on a page!

I first noticed this at my web email account where a tiny window appears over the title of the email in the listing but only when I mouse over the title. Moving the mouse to the tiny window pops open a preview of the email. This causes the web email program to concider that the email has been read and the “bold lettering for new email” is no longer active.

The second notice of this was my return here where the same thing happens when mousing over titles of posts on the forums. This also happens on webpages with hyper-links. The tiny window appears over the hyper-link when the mouse is over the hyper-link and moving the mouse to the tiny window pops open a preview window.

OK … so there is an ad at the top of the preview window. I suppose they have to pay for this some way since it is free to users like you and I.

I can see advanges of this but at times I suppose it could be a bother for some people. Anyway, I will keep Browster for a while and see how it goes from here.

Firefox has also some plugins like IE-TAB
http://ietab.mozdev.org/

Firefox has also lot of “extensions”/plugins and no ads

I not like ads.

I hope that “browser” not overloading LAN

Well, it’s only one ad at a time. So, not much chance of overloading my LAN.

Many thanks CharleyO please keep us informed when able

Well, after several days of using Browster, I am beginning to like it better. It does seem to be quicker at browsing links that I may not want to spend much time on … rather than waiting for the usual browser to open a new page. Usually, Browster pages open in just a couple of seconds or maybe 3.

By the way, and so far, the ads at the top (only one at a time) could be catagorized as the “good kind” … you know, for cancer research, don’t drink & drive, and other “for the public good” ads.
