BSOD while scanning on XP

4.6.744 Home Edition installed.
Win XP / SP2

I have been using this version for some while now without any problems, but recently at approximately three quarters of the way through any set scan, I get the famous BSOD with the following details:

stop: 0x000000D1 (0x00000030, 0x000000006, 0x00000000, 0xF73E69AO)
Viamraid.sys - address: F73E69AO - base at: F73DC000 - date stamp: 4063e304

from my research, this indicates either a device driver or software fault, but their has been no driver changes since using AVAST, and the two software installations that I installed have been removed, but I still get the problem.

I would be grateful if anyone can suggest a remedy for this or possible things I can try to solve it?.

Many thanks for any assistance.

Googling the 0x000000D1 error will give you a lot of info:

thank you ‘Tech’ for your suggestions, the links were useful.
I have now updated the VIAMRAID driver to a new one just out and have just completed a full scan with AVAST - and no BSOD or problems!.
so, hopefully this has done the trick - will monitor.

Many thanks
