CALLING FILTER - BLOCK NUMBERS NOT IN CONTACT LIST

I have recently expanded my Avast experience but am would like to know why this cant be done. It was a VERY usefull feature on my TracFone… a shortbus model… and I would love to be able to make it so ONLY those already saved in my contacts list can make my phone ring.

On my newer not-so-smart phone, I can set this up in my settings menu; SETTINGS—> CALL SETTINGS—> CALL RESTRICTIONS: set to “Allow Contacts”. Somehow (Im guessing the carrier didnt clear the settings for my number on their server) some calls come through as if it was not set up to begin with or as if they were in my contact list (which they are not). This can be a very effective tool against phishers that call randomly to try and get one’s banking information, passwords, ect.

As it stands, Im having to go and create a new group rule for each number that ‘side-steps’ my phones basic security. Is there something I am missing and just didnt look in the right place, or is this not doable in the current version?

I want to resrict incoming calls to ONLY allow my contacts. All others can goto voicemail; again this is how it happened on my TracFone.

Create a group and set it to block calls. Set it for the days and hours to block. Add All Unknown Numbers to the group members and it will filter all numbers NOT in your contact list.

I thought so… now when a number NOT in my contact list gets through… what should I do and how should I get Avast tech support the right information on someone bypassing the Avast filter(s)?

So something just dawned on me that connect two discussions I have started on this boarde. This one as well as the following:

Now, if someone has gained unknown access to my phone to create the BLANK sync list; would it not make sense that this is how they are getting past this particular filter/block… along with why my phones own options lets a call ring through even though Iv EXPLICITLY set it to ALLOW CONTACTS only for incoming call/text?

Then the Avast filter is working fine, but somehow a ‘fake’ sync/contact list (with no title) was added, and yes, some of those calls that shouldnt be a contact now are and get through just fine… its just been hidden from me that these numbers were REMOTELY added. Maybe this relates to the firewall and thats how they are blowing past Avast Mobile Security to add this HIDDEN contact list.

I do NOT allow for any account ‘snycing’ to occur so why this is able to be created is unknown.

Do you see a contact list on your phone that you did not create?

It was connected to the account I use on the PLAY store…it had not title, just a black field and a tick box I could check/uncheck to view the CONTACTS associated to that list. Ill try and get a picture up tomorrow. Am sending logs of problem closing my Avast Mobile.
